Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Lightsideness
Ok, so my very first devotional was talking about being in the darkside. Well how about this time we talk about being in the light side its benefits and rewards. For those of you who are Christian then you know how most of the world views us.

"Men will say, 'Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth!'"Psalm 58:11

Most of the world views that God wants us to be Christian and live in Africa so serve him. Or anywhere poor, also they view that we don’t have “fun”. Well most of us who are Christian know that “THAT’S SO WRONG” because you seen how amazing God has work just not in your life but other people as well. And all those fun times you have fellowshipping with others.

Many of us have many talents from fishing, sports, and playing and instrument. Or some can even do all 3 (my best friend Greg can). Well if Christian can’t have fun then why do we still play sports and go fishing. Lets use the example of sports first. In football you have to trust one another and work together to get a touchdown. In football you also got your quarterback, running back, blockers, defense team, and offense team. With out all of them how can you make a team?

How about fishing? Well you cant catch fish without having a rod (or net depends what type of fishing you talking about) and most importantly the bait. You can have the bait but where’s the rod. Or you have a rod but where’s the bait.

I like using the weirdest analogy ever but if you look at both of them you can use football and fishing in so many different ways. So people say Christian can’t have fun well lets say God gave you that talent at playing football. You are already having fun and doing something for God to. Lets see the more you work with your teammates the more you fellowship. And hopefully you are showing that person making them say I know that guy over there is a Christian. After awhile they gain your trust and from there you can start opening the gospel a bit and bit more.

"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."
2 Peter 3:18

Or fishing for example after you gain that person trust, are you going to leave that guy there. Lets say that guy is the bait and you are the fishing rod. He wont make it out alone so he has to cling on to you to learn more about God.

Psalm 37:
Don’t be impatient for the Lord to act! Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you, giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed.

Now like always here’s the main part of all these analogy and stories. Being in the light side gives happiness because there’s no greater joy then learning your friend became a Christian. But remember pray about if it doesn’t (and if your friend does become save keep praying you 2 will grow in Christ) and always remember GOD’S TIMINING IS THE PREFECT ONE. Now both of you can both serve God and grow together. There that’s 1 reward. 2nd rewards you can view are all that fellowship time you had sure even you might have argued but look how much you guys grown.

Another thing you can be happy for is building patience. Everyone wants to see their friends being saved and that takes patience and during that entire time you are building patience.

"Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy" (Ps 33:3)

Of course there are more great rewards but these are only 2. Ok let’s go back to that example of playing a musical instrument. When you play for GOD there’s no greater joy then that. (Of course there’s no greater joy when you become a Christian or anything that has to do with serving God) Leading others to worship for God. I can tell you it’s the best feeling ever. Knowing you did something right. Well basically I told you the rewards and benefits of being a Christian in a weird way ha-ha. Of course there are more but these are some of them.

I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:8)

But there’s one great reward that only a Christian has. I’m not going to use an analogy for this. But the greatest one ever is having a relationship with our ultimate Savior. Having ultimate love and even though we sin we can always have a relationship. Salvation is here and we are free.

So let ask you this how is your relationship with our Father? Is it as strong as Psalm 16:8?
